My eye again

My Eye is bad again so phoned the doctors next available appointment is Friday Morning! I'm sure there is something that says if the doctor can't see you on the day you phone you should be able to seeyou the next day. The NHS is rubbish don't know why I am paying for it!

So because the doctor would also do everything to get money out of me before getting me booked into the eye department at the hospital I found the direct number for the eye department at St Jimmy's Hospital that were very helpfull, asked me to massarge my eye and if it is no better in the next couple of days to phone them back. That is what the doctors should be like.

Normally I am very calm on the phone but the doctors saying the next appointment is Friday morning was just not helpfull at all. I thought the new bigger doctors was meant to make things better and faster, seems not.

Well done Ernie! Stick it to the bloody GP's. In the last few years most GP's have gone from earning £50,000 a year to £100,000 plus a year!

This was supposed to be linked to better services but most of them no longer do home visits and have the same or worse opening hours.

Oh and the best bit of all is as with my GP you call on the day for an appointment (no appointments available in advance), sadly they open at 8am and can take an hour to get thru on the one telephone line they have that is always engaged and when you get through appointments are usually all gone....

But can we complain, I mean it is free of sorts (Ok we pay taxes for it) but what about people in places like the USA that have no access to Health Care?? What do our Amercain muppets think??

You can't compare the two systems.

Just look to Norway for a system that pales yours in comparison on so many levels..

Do you take prisons and inmates into consideration? Old people? Paid leave of absence for women and men when they have children etc. etc.?

     Example:

    NHS Direct http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/

We have a local walk in centre near where i live and it's very convenient

Go to the drop down menu to find yours

mmm I don't know what to make of that ? I think it's one of those things that would probabaly work nowhere else other than Norway?

For a start the media would have a field day !!

Our NHS system works ok people should realise it's impossible to have everything for free or for a minimum payment through taxation. It's a myth perported since the inception of the NHS, and was used as a tool of the Labour party. MPs have said it couldn't be sustained from day one.

Anyway i hope you get something for your eye soon Ernie Smile

I don't have a doctor. Havent had one for almost 5 years. Whenever I have a problem I go to the NHS Walking Center. 24 hours and NOONE has an appointment. You're seen in order of priority. Been for Ankle Ligament Injury, Broken Rib and other odds and ends. GP's are a waste of time...
