Future of Web Apps
So i went on a bit of an expedition last week which was an absolute blast!
On Monday, Ryan and I jumped on a train to Southampton to visit the crew at Headscape and record an episode of the most popular Web Design and Development podcast in the world. This was tons of fun and the live stream of which can be seen at boagworld.com/live :)
After a very nice (expensed ;) lunch on Headscape, we camped out in a Wetherspoons for the rest of the night :)
I was originally hoping to go from Southampton to Crawley to visit Chandler, but soon came to the realisation that it would have put too many complications on my trip (and Chandler was full of cold by the sound of things) so we headed straight to London the next day.
Ryan was attending workshops on the Wednesday so I had a full day to kill in London which I was looking forward to camping out in a coffee shop getting some work done on Muppets, alas fate conspired against me and I spent the whole day, camped in a coffee shop dismantling my laptop :(
The main event of my trip was the Future of Web Apps Expo an absolutely massive conference covering the latest in web app design and development. Videos of all the conference talks are online if you're interested :)
The highlight of the 2 days at FOWA for me was the Live Diggnation recording, which I've always wanted to see, and was an absolute blast! As you've probably seen from the moblog I met Kevin Rose at the afterparty and was given a Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse from Kevin and Alex at the afterparty :D
All in all it was an amazing week, and I met some great people down there, this is probably the last conference I'll be attending this year, although there's another BarCamp in Sheffield next month to carry me over until the new year :)
